The deal to purchase the site has officially closed. No time has been wasted. Today firefighters in full haz-mat regalia were inside the buildings doing a sweep to ensure the structures are free of occupants. Signage has gone up at the intersection of George and Mitton streets.

The site has been fenced off for security. Sarnia Fire Department is onsite today making a sweep of the buildings to ensure there are no inhabitants that would be endangered by the preparatory work being done prior to demolition.

September 8, 2017

The closing date for the purchase of the site is approaching. Removal of hazardous materials and subsequent demolition will commence immediately. The blight at the centre of the city will be finally erased and transformed back into something the community will be proud of.

September 22, 2017 Estimated closing date of sale.  Construction Fencing to be erected.

September 25, 2017 Abatement activities begin.  24 hour security to be implemented.
